My name is Matt Villar.  Born and raised in sunny southern California, I graduated from Arizona State University and moved across the country to Nashville, Tennessee.

Coming from my mother's Jewish European family and my father's Catholic Mexican family, my entire existence has consisted of bridging gaps and reconciling different world views.  In my performance, my writing, and in everything I do, I strive to inspire compassion among people by playing on what makes people similar and emphasizing what makes them unique.  I look to tell stories that bring us to the roots of our humanity and remind us that we are all one and the same, in our own unique ways.
